NFL 2025 season: Week six

Live coverage features text commentary for Sunday's games on multiple platforms, starting with the Broncos-Jets clash at Tottenham (from 14:00 BST). Also, audio coverage can be heard on select stations covering a separate game (beginning at 9 PM BST).

We're in the sixth week of the football calendar and following recent talk regarding the Buffalo Bills and Philadelphia Eagles as a potential Super Bowl match-up, they both surrendered their unbeaten records.

Notable during those contests was the number of infractions each conceded. Philadelphia did so at crucial times so they kind of defeated themselves after leading 17-3 going into the final quarter against the Denver Broncos, who play overseas this Sunday.

But it was good to see how Denver quarterback Bo Nix managed to have the shortfall and then direct three scoring drives in three attempts during the final period, to win the game by four points.

Denver boast the defensive player of the year with cornerback their star corner. They are first in red zone defence, whereas the Eagles lead the league in scoring near the end zone, and Denver prevailed in that battle.

They had the Eagles' number regarding simulated pressure. They did not necessarily sending extra defenders instead they could position two LBs in the 'A' gap before withdrawing them and send a slot defender from the outside.

Early on in the campaign, we said on a program that the Broncos could be the current year's surprise contenders. They finished the previous year strongly and excelled of building upon that.

Could Denver be this season's dark horses?

Recently acquired TE their tight end has stepped up big and recent RB their rusher is a guy the team trusts. He now ranks fifth in the NFL for rushing yards (402) as well as tied for fourth in rushing scores (four).

It's impressive how head coach Sean Payton displays "RUN IT!" prominently of his playcall sheet.

This demonstrates how Denver represent a squad aiming to run first, since you can do a lot based on that approach. It slows down the pass rush while keeps you in favourable down and distances.

It's also benefited quarterback Bo Nix, who came the NFL as the 12th overall draft pick in the prior draft, throwing 29 touchdown passes – just behind Justin Herbert in rookie records (31 back in 2020).

Other elite QBs possess the arm strength to pass anywhere, however they don't move in the same way that Nix has. He has incredible arm talent, which is different, plus he's so athletic.

His assets are his mobility, the capacity to pass while moving, and finding different arm angles to deliver the pass when he rolls outside protection, on rollouts. He can deliver precision throws across the middle or past defenders.

For a young quarterback, at 25, he's got great composure under pressure and is not really fazed by the blitz. He tries to evade being tackled as much as possible and is able pass in tight spots. He possesses a high football IQ and remains quick to decide.

If you constantly rush it consumes time and makes the opponent to stay on the field extended periods, and when you have an athletic quarterback the defense must cover the field vertically side to side. This proves draining.

Nix has pushed back with the coach on the sideline sometimes and I think the coach appreciates that attitude, that he's such a competitor. In my view it's fun for the coach to coach a rookie QB that is similar to play-dough. He can really develop him the way he wants to build it. I believe it's a special experience for the coach.

Payton owns a Super Bowl and has surpassed a legend for career NFL wins (173, tying for 14th). He's seen it all. In my opinion the achievements the Broncos are experiencing on offence is mostly due to his guidance, his schemes, his game sense – and the pairing with the QB aids shape him what he is.

You wouldn't want a more qualified person guiding you, to assist you through some of the tougher situations and build self-belief.

I believe in the Broncos' defense, in the QB's grit and calm. Yet are they good enough to face a top squad at its best? Since that wasn't championship-level play from Philadelphia last Sunday.

Currently, it's unlikely Denver are incredible. They're working better than most, that's a good place to be in the AFC West. All they need is is maintain this trajectory.

They excel at embracing their forte, which is the ground game, and that's precisely what they should do versus the New York Jets in London. It will likely be a Dobbins-focused game, in essence.

New York have allowed 140 rushing yards each contest (among the worst), five ground scores this season (in the bottom ten), and they're the only team without a win a game.

Since the NFL started recording turnovers decades ago, the Jets are also the inaugural squad to be without any turnovers through five games, which is surprising considering that the head coach Aaron Glenn a defensive coach at the Detroit Lions.

Patrick Mahomes says Kansas City are off to a poor start after a recent loss to Jacksonville.

Following this Sunday's game, the Broncos face a manageable slate until their bye (in week 12) - the Giants, Dallas Cowboys, Houston Texans and the Raiders prior to the Chiefs.

In the AFC West, the Chiefs hold a losing record while Denver are tied with the Chargers on 3-2 meaning they could make a run for the top of the division.

This hinges on which form Kansas City shows up they meet because Denver {beat|def
