Unbowed Nancy shows no fear of the sack but the Parkhead faithful unleash fury following derby defeat.
Wilfried Nancy declared he had no concerns about losing his job, maintaining, “We are very near to a turnaround,” even after edging perilously close to being fired with a heavy loss to the Ibrox side.
A Second-Half Capitulation Results in Old Firm Disaster
The home side were in front their oldest rivals at half-time but a collapse after the break enabled Rangers to draw level on points with the current league title holders. Nancy, who was appointed from the MLS, has now overseen six losses in his last eight games.

“The outcomes [that leads to pressure]. And that’s the reality for the moment. Yet by saying that’s how it is, that is not a sign that I am a defeatist guy. Not at all. The message is we are really close, really, really close to change the narrative.”
Focus on the Details
He remains focused on the fact his team can perform strongly for a half at a time. For instance, but for wastefulness in front of goal they would have been greater than 1-0 up. “There were positives aside from the fact that we haven’t scored our chances,” he said. “I know that we lost, but I must remain fair.
“The performance we had at stages was exceptionally high. This is the reality. And I would not talk like that if it was different. But that’s why, regarding outcomes, I noted it's a repeating pattern. That’s why I said that we are really close to things turning around. Right now: small things.”
“There were plenty of positives that we did, once more. The issue now it’s about consistency. My outlook would change the same. That’s why I am a big believer we will manage to get back on track.”
Opposition Reaction Outlook
The victorious boss was cautious about a serious challenge in spite of what appeared to be a huge result. “Step by step, and we can develop momentum,” he said. “The belief in the group is immense.”
