Hulu to Bring a Popular Game TV Show from the Producers of the Alien Series and the Comedy Hit.
The most recent Far Cry game that audiences experienced was Far Cry 6, that featured Giancarlo Esposito in the role of the villain, Antón, and came out back in October 6, 2021. Throughout the franchise, it is known for delighting in action and mayhem with equal excitement, all while presenting gripping, ideologically themed tales. Little surprise that the network’s new order for a Far Cry seasonal program attracted two producers whose projects have exemplified all of those elements.
What to Expect
Adapted from Ubisoft's successful video game property, the self-contained anthology series is set to premiere on Hulu and will be created by FX Productions. The anthology will also follow the video games' style by featuring a fresh location and group of personalities in subsequent series.
Executive Team
Rob Mac, producer of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the visionary behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will act as executive producers on the series through their companies, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be joined by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.
The network enjoyed magnificent partnerships with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a combined six series and 32 seasons of television, and we couldn’t be more excited that they are working together for Far Cry,” said Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a announcement. “I have no doubt that they will deliver this story in a way that is fresh, compelling, and extremely entertaining. We also want to acknowledge our collaborators at Ubisoft for entrusting us with this cherished property.”
What’s Next
Mac will also feature in the show, but currently, we have no details on what part that could be. Hawley's Alien: Earth was not long ago renewed for more episodes, with FX and Disney signing a new comprehensive agreement with the creator.
“Being able to collaborate together with Noah Hawley is a dream realized,” remarked Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been incredibly supportive, entrusting us with one of the most famous video-game realms ever created. And along the way, my FX partners constantly supports me with their ongoing belief and support.”
“The aspect I admire about the Far Cry game series is that it’s an anthology-style show. Every title is a variation of a concept, the same way every series of Fargo is a adaptation on a theme,” noted Hawley. “To create a big action show that can change from year to year, while always exploring the core of humanity through this intricate and turbulent perspective, is a dream come true. I’m excited to work with Rob and bring our mutual irreverent, daring style to the screen.”
A time frame for when we can anticipate the new Far Cry show has remains undisclosed. The series will be available on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus in other regions.
