Altogether, 21 clan members and associates were sentenced of scams, homicide, assault and additional crimes, reported a official report published on the court website.
This clan is one of a small number of organized crime groups that rose to power in the 2000s and transformed the impoverished remote area of Laukkaing into a lucrative hub of casinos and nightlife areas.
Over the past few years they turned to illegal operations in which many of smuggled workers, many of them from China, are trapped, harmed and forced to scam targets in unlawful activities worth billions of dollars.

Mafia head the patriarch and his offspring the younger Bai were among the several men condemned to capital punishment by the Shenzhen Intermediate People's Court. Another individual, A third figure and Chen Guangyi were the remaining convicted.
Two figures of the clan syndicate were received suspended death sentences. Five were given to permanent incarceration, while more figures were given prison terms between several years to two decades.
The Bais, who led their own armed group, set up 41 facilities to house their online fraud operations and betting establishments, government reported.
Extent of Criminal Operations
These criminal operations included over twenty-nine billion Chinese yuan ($4.1bn; over three billion pounds). These activities also resulted in the fatalities of several Chinese citizens, the suicide of an individual and numerous harm, reports announced.
The severe punishments handed down by the judicial body are a component of the Chinese initiative to remove the vast fraud networks in the region - and issue a firm signal to other illegal groups.
History of the Groups
These families rose to power in the early 2000s with the support of a prominent figure - who is in charge of Myanmar's military government. He had intended to bolster partners in the town after ousting its former leader.
Within the families, the Bais were "the top", Bai Yingcang before stated to state media.
During that period, we was the most powerful in both the political and military arenas," the individual remarked in a film about the clan, broadcast on Chinese state media in the summer.
During the report, a individual at their illegal operations described the harm he had experienced at the location: besides being assaulted, he had his nails removed with instruments and a couple of his digits severed with a tool.
More Accusations
The son is among those who were condemned to death in the latest ruling. The individual has also been separately found guilty of conspiring to traffic and manufacture 11 tonnes of illegal drugs, official sources stated.
End of the Groups
The families' end came in recent times as situations altered.
Previously Beijing has urged the Myanmar junta to limit fraudulent activities in the area.
Recently, the Chinese police announced legal actions for the leading individuals of such clans.
The patriarch, the clan's patriarch, was included in the individuals who were transferred to Beijing from the country in recent months.
For what reason is the authorities putting such extensive work to go after the four families?" a Chinese investigator said in the July film.
The purpose is to caution individuals, no matter your position, your base, as long as you commit such terrible acts against the Chinese people, you will face consequences."
