Beloved Performer Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Known For Roles in Friends and The Middle, Dies at Age 60.
Stateside actor Finn, who was seen in beloved programs such as Friends, "Seinfeld" and "The Middle", has succumbed aged 60.
The comedic improv actor succumbed at his home in Los Angeles on Monday following cancer treatment from 2022 onward, according to media reports.
"Pat Finn saw everyone as a friend - only friends he had yet to meet," his relatives shared in a announcement.
They continued that he had "embraced life completely - with zest and passion".
An Extensive Television Career
His debut TV appearance was on a show starring George Wendt in 1995, where he played the brother of the main character.
He subsequently landed a regular part on Murphy Brown in the latter half of the 1990s.
He starred as a party host named Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in the late 90s, portraying a social organizer who would assign burdensome jobs to his guests.
Throughout the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he made guest appearances on several hit series, such as:
- "King of Queens"
- Friends
- "That '70s Show"
- "House"
Finn was perhaps best known for his portrayal of the character Bill Norwood in "The Middle", appearing throughout eight series over nearly a decade.
His cinematic roles encompass "It's Complicated" and "Santa Paws 2".
Off-Screen Life
Beyond his on-screen roles, Finn was an improv performer and also taught at the Colorado university, where he was a professor.
He was a member of a six-person improv troupe named Beer Shark Mice.
"Pat coached, befriended and mentored numerous pupils over the years and it's nearly impossible to find someone who has anything negative to say about him," his relatives stated.
In a tribute, peer actor Richard Kind remarked there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, down to earth person you could encounter".
"Always positive, making those around him better and funnier. An excellent dad and person," he posted on social media.
The actor is remembered by his wife Donna, three children, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
